super sculpy can be tricky. if you get a fresh box of it it tends to be mushy and I hate mushy. if you get an olderbox of it it will be firmer. I like to have both on hand because the musuff is easier for adding large areas quickly but it makes details a pain, so I typically use the soft stuff for making armatures and the older firmer stuff for the outer details, but i only use SS for things that will be painted, its not that pretty when its baked and its not as strong as the prettier polymers unless you burn it. strongest and prettiest is cernit, but its also the softest and hardest to work with. the easiest and also most expensive is prosculpt, but it really is night and day compared to SS . you can also try puppen fimo its also much firmer than SS. you might have better luck with an older box of SS . I always buy my SS at a physical store so I can open the boxes an feel the constistancy so I can get a frim one. having firmer clay should help you until you get better at smoothing it out. also make you armature first and build up and bake some clay onto it so you have something to hold onto. also try looking at it upsidedown or in a mirror or take a picture to see anything that is asymetrical or lumpy, but most of all just practice

Amazing! You just keep kicking it up a notch! This is really an incredible piece, how long did it take? The details are great!
